My teacher held up a piece of broken glass and asked, "Who broke this window?"

Thirty boys tried to think about not only what they had done, but also what our teacher may have found out. She seldom became angry, but she was this time.

"Oh, "I thought, "I was the one who broke the window." It was caused by a naughty throw of a baseball. If I admitted guilt, I would be in a lot of trouble. How would I be able to pay for a big window like that? I didn't even get an allowance. "My father is going to have a fit,", I thought. I couldn't believe it! I wasn't being punished and I was getting my own bird field guide-the very one that I had been saving up money to buy.

All that remains of that day is my memory and the lesson my teacher taught me. That lessen stays with me every day, and it will echo forever.

The Australian Council for Educational Researeh(ACER) released a report on Australian students' sense of belonging in school in May. It described as "disturbing" some of the differences in Australian students' sense of belonging between male and female students, students from high and low economic backgrounds, and students from different cultural backgrounds.

A sense of belonging in school is the degree to which students feel respected, accepted and supported by teachers and peers. It has been linked to students' attention and effort in class, their persistence and completion of learning activities. An understanding of belonging is important for educators. It allows them to plan effective practices to support students in the classroom and school-wide.

A study from the US found students' sense of belonging goes down from year 7 through to year 11. With it, students' educational expectations also decrease. This fall may be due to a mismatch between students' need for autonomy（自主）and interaction，and their learning environment. They may experience less supportive and caring teacher-student 'relationships, increased teacher control, and limited opportunities for autonomy. A similar study in Finland also found this might be because secondary students need to adapt to a larger social network and a larger number of teachers, so they may not know their peers or teachers as well.

Importantly, some groups of students may feel lower levels of belonging. This includes students with different cultural or language backgrounds, students with disabilities or students awkward in social interaction.

Teachers and schools play an important role in building up students' sense of belonging. If a student considers their school and teacher to be caring and accepting, they're more likely to adopt the academic and social values of their school and teacher. Teachers and schools can take steps to improve students' sense of belonging in school, which is of great importance for all students.

We all know the saying, "Nobody is perfect. "It has been planted in our brains since we were children, and of course, it is the truth. So if nobody is perfect, why do we have such a hard time admitting when we are in trouble or need help?

Like many other young people trying to get through their first year of college, I felt anxiety, and it had its grips on me pretty tight. It began getting in the way of my life, and I had to sit down and tell myself that my behavior was not healthy and. there was a solution. Finally, I decided to turn to therapy（治疗）.

Therapy. It has such a negative reputation, but why? Does going to therapy mean that you are failing as a person or that you cannot fix your problems on your own? No. Going to therapy means that you are strong enough to recognize that something inside your head is not working correctly, and you are brave enough to try to fix it.

After a couple of weeks, many parts of my life became so much clearer. I began to understand that I, myself, am my worst enemy, which was pretty frightening. But, although frightened, 1 knew that it was only I who could guide me towards feeling better, and that was extremely helpful.

I have been guided towards a healthier way of thinking, one that is positive and powerful. I have been able to understand that no matter what happens in my life. I will always be okay.

A lot of people do not understand that it is normal to have negative feelings and sometimes to feel like we have lost control over certain parts of our lives. Seeing a therapist can greatly change your way of thinking about something if you keep your mind open and I am so thankful that I decided to go and do something for myself.

Every time when we heard the word "EXAM", it sends a chill down our spines. We all have our own share of memories with exams. When it comes to students, there are some who start studying beforehand, and are all relaxed during the exams. Then there is the other lot who relax the entire year, and end up doing some really crazy things.

Make a timetable.  They decide what and when to study, and, waste most of the day making that timetable, which probably they don't even follow eventually.

 . Some students overestimate（高估）themselves and start collecting all the books and study materials on this planet to prepare for their exams, only ending up confused and panicked. They fail to understand that they aren't superheroes who can remember everything in just one day.

Stare at the wall. Suddenly, everything else becomes interesting a day before the exams, even staring at the wall. Now you may argue that they might be thinking about something. Absolutely not.  

Contact friends. Students try to get in touch with friends whom they do not talk with very often, asking how much they have done with. Sometimes, this acts as a boost（激励）, if they are ahead of their friends.

After working an inhuman 8-hour shift at a factory unloading parts for cheap furniture, I got on the bus, dirty, tired and hot.
