Project in Singapore

The fantastic man-made "forest" is a Singapore landmark. It is made from steel and concrete(水泥) covered in local flowers and plants. At night, 18 solar-powered tree-like towers which get their energy from the sun often light up the city. The project was awarded "the World Building of the Year" and its designer said the idea was to create "a city in a garden". Clearly, the special way of building up the forest makes a difference to lifting the public's awareness about environment.

Project in Milan

By decorating the buildings from top to bottom with more than 20,000 trees and plants, Italian architect Stefano Boeri said he'd wanted to make trees part of the buildings and create something that could help to reduce pollution. These buildings lie in the center of the city, Milan. Which types of trees are planted and where the trees are planted depend on the trees' likes for sunlight. There is no doubt that this award-winning project is a great work.

Project in Medellin

Medellin has won high praise for its green corridors(长廊)". This project helps the city which used to be poor and dirty get a new look. Now the30 corridors full of trees and flowers connect green spaces such as parks and gardens in Medellin. The green corridors have reduced the temperature by two degrees and helped make the air clean Bees and birds have returned. To make the beauty of the city remain, more gardening jobs have been created. Because ofthis, people there live more actively. Its one of the best examples driven by government which improves the environment.

 阅读理解

Like most people, you find it difficult to climb out of bed early in the morning. But once you wake up as the sun rises after a long struggle, it will of benefit (益处) to you. As Benjamin Franklin said, " Theearly morning has gold mouth. "

The best part of waking up early is the peace. You can feel the fresh air entering yourself and refreshing your whole body. There are sounds of humans, which usually make you distracted (分心的) while doing what you like. It's the best time to focus and think about what to do for the rest of the day. When you wake early you can make a healthy breakfast which is considered the most important meal of the day. Waking up early also helps youhave a head start. If you wake up early, there will be enough time to exercise. It will help you have both emotional and physical health.

When you wake up earl, you can do things peacefully without being worried about getting late. It also gives you a healthy skin. In the early morning, the sunlight on your face gives you a healthy glow(容光焕发). Moreover, if you wake up early you will keep your skin hydrated (含水的) by drinking enough water which develops your skin healthily. Early risers have better sleep patterns that suit them than those who sleep late, and they get quality sleep that results in repairs of the mind and the body. It helps in increasing blood supply to the muscles for development.

The benefits are enough for early risers. If you are someone who is night owl, you can try to change this with a patience. Make sure that you have the right sleep tools, and go to bed a little earlier so that you can sleep well and get up early.

"Don't judge a book by its cover," the old saying goes. Unluckily, as a teenager, that is often exactly what you do to yourself. Dark thoughts about your physical appearance can hang over you all the time like a rain cloud. Do I look fat in these jeans? Do others think I am too short? These thoughts can have a negative(消极的) influence on people of any shape or size, both male and female, and it is important to guard against the causes behind them.

Standards of beauty in the media can have a big influence on what you think of your physical appearance. Teens who try to copy the looks of their favouritestars are fighting a losing battle—these standards are simply impossible for most of the population to live up to. They will only end up feeling worse about themselves.

Your friends also influence the way you view your physical appearance. If you have friends who are good-looking or have a great fashion sense, it can feel like you are living in their shadow. For children of digital age, social media makes this problem even worse. Your friends may post a "never ending" series of photos online to show off their beautiful dresses or strong bodies, and it becomes easier for you to compare yourself to them. This has proved to have a negative effect on what you think of your physical appearance.

These external influences are always present, but there are certainly ways to deal with them. First of all, be careful not to follow popular beauty standards blindly. They are out of reach for 99% of us, so it is better to just forget about them.

Another tip is to remind yourself that you are unique(独一无二的). Keep in mind that your family and friends love you just the way you are. Talk about your feelings with someone you trust. Focusing on your strength also helps you build your confidence. Everyone has their own talents—you may be good at painting or playing the piano, so take pride in things you do well instead of worrying about things you cannot change.

You may often judge yourself by what is on the outside, not on the inside. However, like a book, your contents are much more important than your cover. If you can learn to see the good things about yourself—your individuality, your value to others, your achievements—you will soon begin to love yourself just the way you are.
