Paul is a student. He has a busy life.

Paul has five subjects at school. They are science, math, English, geography andhistory. Science and math are his favorite. Paul gets up at 6 am from Monday to Friday.He has many classes and study groups every week.

Paul has three classes every morning. He has science from 8 am to 9 am, math from9: 15 am to 10: 15 am and geography from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. On Sunday, he meets hisstudy groups. On Monday and Wednesday, he has English. His English class is from 2 pmto 3 pm. On Thursday afternoon, he has history from 2 pm to 3 pm. Usually, he studiesin the library in the evening.

In his free time, Paul relaxes with friends. Sometimes, Paul goes to the cinema. Helikes taking pictures. He is in the photo-taking club.

Paul says, "My school life is very busy. I have a lot of tests and homework, but Iamhappy. I always have time to relax with friends and family in my free time."

Try to think about this: you sit down and begin to eat a tomato. Just then, the tomatostarts to shout! This may not sound real, but a new study showed that plants made sounds(声音)when they "felt"worried.

Scientists used ultrasonic microphones (超声波克风) to "hear" the sounds oftomato plants in boxes.

What did they do?

They listened to three groups of plants.

Group 1 and Group 2 made sounds 30 to 50times(次数) every hour. Group 3 only made 1sound every hour. "When tomatoes are not worried at all, they are very quiet," Lilach Hadany from thestudy team said.

Who listens to these sounds?

Animals may listen to the sounds in the forest. For example, the sound can tell themthat the plant is worried and not good for laying eggs(产卵) on. When an animal wants toeat a plant, it can also use the sound to pick which one to eat.

The scientists also listened to other plants,like rice.They also made more soundswhen they were worried.Scientists say the study can help farmers in the future.They canhelp the plants grow better by "hearing" how plants feel.

The National(国家的) Library of China (NLC) is in Beijing. With over 37,000,000items(品), it is the largest library in Asia and one of the best libraries in the world. Itkeeps most of Chinese books in the world.

The National Diet Library (NDL) is in Japan. It started in 1948 and its memberstalked about important things there. You can find most of the Japanese books there. And ithas a lot of books in different languages, too.

The Reading Room of the British Museum is in the British Museum. In history,many great people studied in this library, like Oscar Wilde and Mark Twain. In 2000, thelibrary's books were moved to the New British Library (the largest library in the UK) andthe Reading Room now becomes an information center and keeps a lot of books abouthistory, art and other subjects.

The Harvard Library has more than 18,000,000 books. It started from 1938, and isthe oldest library in the US and the largest school library in the world. As for the numberof books, it is the third largest in the US, after the Library of Congress and the BostonPublic Library.

These days, libraries are not just for the reading of books, but also the center in aneighborhood. Next time, pick one and spend whole days in, if the library is not too farfrom home.

"Come and look, Grandma, come and see the dinosaurs(恐龙)!" said Katie.

Katie 1  the Natural History Museum, and she wanted to show her Grandma everything.
