A library is a very good place. Nearly every place has a library, like a city, a town, a school, even a small village. Libraries are here and there in the world.

 Our school has a library. It's not big but clean and tidy. There are different kinds of books, magazines, dictionaries and CDs in it. The chairs and desks are nice and the teachers are friendly to students. All the students in our school enjoy reading in the library. There are four small reading rooms in the library. There is also a big one. Every room has many books. Some are in Chinese, and others are in English. We can read and do our homework there. We often read with the help of our teachers because some books are too difficult for us. My classmates and I are getting ready to read now. Reading books helps us a lot.

 You see, a library is always     ▲     because it can open our eyes to the outside world.

 What does a day look like for a high school student in the United States? Well,I can tell you about my day in high school.

 Our schoolday goes from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Sometimes I have cheerleading(啦啦队活动) practice or play practice at 6:30 am. If I have time,I eat breakfast at the school dining room.

 Then I go towards my locker(锁柜) and take my books for the first period. Each class goes for about 50 minutes and we have 10 minutes to get to the next class. We study many things, such as science, maths, French and PE.

I play the piano in a band, so one of my class periods is used for that. Lunchtime is usually at 12:30 pm, and then we have some time to hang out outside or by our lockers. At the end of the day there is a seminar (研讨会) period. It is used for studying or meetings.

 After school, I cheer at a basketball game, or have speech practice. My family always try to have dinner at around 7:00 pm, but there isn't always time. I finally start doing homework at around 8:00 pm or 9:00 pm.

 So there you have it! That's my day in high school.

 Generally compared to a mother, a father represents (代表) qualities like independence, confidence, courage and adventure. Also, a caring father can help their children get along with others, according to a study on Live Science. Fathers not only lead their children into their social circle but also teach them how to act and control(控制) their feelings.

 For example, Microsoft founder Bill Gates was quiet and didn't like to talk with others when he was a little kid. So his father often held family parties and let Bill play games with family members. "Games like soccer and swimming seemed to be silly at that time but they improved my ability of leading and getting along with others, " Gates once said in an interview.

 The US actor Will Smith learnt important lessons from small things taught by his father. His father once planned to pull down a wall of their shop and rebuild it. But little Will thought it was impossible. After a year and a half, they did it. "You say,'I'm going to lay this brick as perfectly as a brick can be laid.' You do that every single day. And soon you have a wall, "he said on a TV show.

"One father is more than a hundred schoolmasters, "the British poet George Herbert(1593—1633) once said. Do you agree?

Emma Dreams Big

 Emma looked out of the window, thinking about her little horse, Sunny. At the same time, the other students were excitedly sharing their dreams for the future in the class meeting.

1 Mrs. James called out. "Emma! Can you tell us what you want to do when you grow up?"

"Em... I haven't thought about it yet, "Emma 2 back and said.

"What are you interested in, Emma? "asked Mrs. James.

"I really like riding horses, and my little horse Sunny brings me so much3 , "Emma said. "But what can I do with that in the future? "

"Well, maybe our special guest(客人) today can help you with it, "Mrs. James said."Now, class, let's4 Doctor Landon. He is a vet(兽医), and he came here today as part of our Career Explorations( 职业探索) project. "

"On most days of a week, I travel across the county to 5 horses. It isa lot of work, but I love it. "Doctor Landon said.

 Emma's mouth fell open. "What a life that is, "she thought. At that moment, Emma could see her6 . She was going to be a vet and take care of horses, too!

 After school, Emma made new plans. She would7 an hour studying math before riding her horse Sunny. She also8 to study science even if she didn't have any homework about it. Doctor Landon said those were important9 to study if you wanted to be a vet.

 When Emma got home after school, she told her parents about her big dream. They were very happy and supportive. That night, Emma had a 10 dream, and in her dream, she became a vet. It's so good to have a dream.

(首先), reading is fun, Reading is a good hobby for all kinds of reasons. You can always keep y happy if you like reading. You will never f bored or tired. Next, you can read a book anywhere — — in a car, on a plane, or even in the bathroom. All you (需要) is a book, It is so easy to get a book. Another good (原因) for reading is that it is useful. If you read a lot, you will read faster and find it easier to understand what you read. As your reading skills improve, you will probably find i easier to do your schoolwork.

 Some people (说) that reading is not in fashion. But I don't think so. You can read on the Internet. The more you read, the more (知识) you will gain. Good readers may be W , too. They always have more things to write about. Why not s reading right now?

 Gwen walked into the gym(体育馆) for her next basketball class. The coach asked each girl to join  team. There (be) six girls each team. But Gwen didn't know any of her teammates. All of her friends were in the other (team). She was sad. "I feel ill. May I go to the doctor?" asked Gwen. The coach could see through the (girl) excuse(借口). So he refused. Gwen felt much sadder than ever and begged(恳求), "I don't know any of these girls! Let me join another team." "Why not have a try? You are likely to make new friends  them." the coach said. Then a girl smiled at her. "Hi, I'm Stephanie. Join (we) and we' ll be friends soon." Gwen was surprised, but she nodded. When the game stared, Gwen (play) as well as she could. She took a long shot(投篮). The basketball went right through the hoop(篮筐)!

"That was surprising! " said a girl. (sudden), Gwen fell down and hurt herself. All her teammates ran over (help) her. Gwen said,"I'm fine. Let's keep playing!" Finally, Gwen and her team won! The game connected Gwen's team together  brought her a colourful life.

 When is the last time you had fun? Felt truly happy? if you' re trying not to be bored in your life, we' ll offer you some advice on how to have more fun.

 Find a new hobby. You may not be having as much as you want because you feel like you' re doing the same old thing day after day.  It will not only provide something to look forward to in your daily life , but it will also make you more open to new ideas.

 Experts(专家) suggest that music helps reduce(减少) stress and improves your feelings. Every time you feel stressed, turn on a song you like to reduce your stress. By doing so, you will make it a part of your daily activities which will improve your feelings.

 Take a trip together. Travel is great for your health.  and try to improve your relation ships with the people you travel with. Travel doesn't have to be big. It can be taking a road trip just a few hours away.

 Take the time to enjoy a little game from time to time. Even just playing the game-Rock Paper Scissors while you' re at your desk will make your study day a little more fun.

 Even busy with your study, it's still important to find time for fun. It makes your life not so boring.
