Gillian Lynne didn't do well in school when she was a child. She couldn't sit for long and often moved aroundrestlessly. Her mother worried about her very much. She took Lynne to see a doctor. She talked about the problems Lynne had in school with the doctor. Then, the doctor said to Lynne, "I need to speak to your mother first in another place. Wait here. We'll be back in ten minutes."

After the doctor turned on the radio on his desk, they left the room. He then said to Lynne's mother, "Just stand here and watch her through the window. After seeing what Lynne did, the doctor turned to Lynne's mother and said, "Your daughter isn't ill. In fact, she's a dancer. You should support her." Lynne's mother took the doctor's advice. Lynne felt it was wonderful to learn dancing in her new school because there were full of people just like her. People here couldn't sit still and they had to move to think.

Lynne later went to the Royal Ballet School, one of the world's greatest dance schools, and became a choreographer (编舞者). It's hard to believe that years ago, someone else would let her take medicine and tell her to calm down (平静).
