During my first year at university, I decided to go on a trip in the summer vacation.
In August, I packed my bags and flew to El Salvador, in Central America. When I arrived, I was1by the culture that took my breath away at once. I travelled across the beautiful countryside and enjoyed the 2sight. As I got to know more local people, I came to see the poverty (贫困)and despair (绝望) there.
I continued my 3and went to an orphanage (孤儿院).The local people I met there did4me. They could give you their piece of 5 and even their only shoes. The trip made me think a lot about 6and the world that we live in. The people in El Salvador 7me that although there is so much despair and poverty in the world, the good people in the world are still 8 .
Sometimes we are not able to see them because of the bad things that we see and hear almost every day.
The trip lit a fire in my 9that I continue to carry with me in all parts of my life. I will 10 it forever.
