Born on January 1, 1976, Rudy grew up in Taipei, Taiwan. She is the eldest children of her family. She has one a year younger brother and the other one six years younger. Her father was a businessman, and her mother was a housewife. Her English name was from her mother s love of the jewel'. When Lin was seven years old, her parents broke their marriage.
