One day my daughter brought home four tiny branches. None of them looked very1, but I planted them with hope in our backyard. Over the years, three of them2. Only a single evergreen（常青树） was left.
It didn't grow very3, and never got very tall. Then, I noticed that it was starting to die. Only the top of the tree was still green. Last summer I did my best to4it,but nothing worked.
This morning, I looked at it again, thinking if it would be better to just5the tree. As I walked over to take a6look at it, I noticed something moving. A bird was carefully building a nest at the top of the branches, I7gently and decided that this old tree had some usefulness left in it. It may not be healthy by or pretty, but it was still giving a bird8full of love.
It makes me think that all of our lives have a purpose and9. Everything is sure to make sense by itself. It doesn't matter if we are young and strong or old and10. Until our last breath we have things to do, love for us to give, and joy for us to share, Until our last moment here we can help to make this world a better and more beautiful place.
