In the autumn of 1955, a big ship took a man back to China across the Pacific Ocean. He was Qian Xuesen, famous scientist and top aerospace engineer in the US.
Qian was born in Shanghai in 1911. He graduated National Chiao Tung University in 1934 and then he went to the US for his further study. He studied rocketry and got doctoral (degree) in both math and space science in the US.
He was talented and (become) an excellent young professor in MIT and CIT.
he worked for American army, Qian cared about China all the time. After the founding of New China, he gave up his high payment (work for his motherland However, his way back was not easy at all.（unlucky）, he was under arrest（拘留）for five years in the US. At last, he returned to China with the help of Premier Zhou Enlai.
