My dad is a soldier(士兵). He goes to a training camp(训练营) every few months. I do not like it when he goes to the camp because I do not get to see him for a long time. I always miss him so much. But when my dad does come home, he always surprises me.

Today, I am at my Spelling Bee(英语拼写大赛) at school. I am sad because I am not a very good speller. When it is my turn(轮到我), I stand up. My teacher says, "Sara, your word is 'grateful'." I cannot spell that. I want to give up(放弃) when I see my dad in the crowd. I feel warm because he comes back. He gives me two thumbs up. So I do my best and spell 'g-r-a-t-e-f-u-l(感恩的)' just for him!
