At about 8 pm on Friday, Li Xin was taking a walk her friend by the river. Suddenly, she found a man face down in the water. Without (think) twice, she took off her coat and jumped into the river (save) him.
The temperature was 9℃. The water was cold and Li Xin was 65 years old. Soon, she felt tired. She had to take a break. So she (rest) for a few minutes. Later, she climbed out of the water. (lucky), the man was alive (活着的).
Li said she was member of a swimming team before. She kept up the habit of swimming on warm days. "I just did what I should do," Li said.
Everyone was happy when they heard the news, her family were not. They thought she was no longer young. They didn't want her to take (risk). What she did might put (she) in danger. "I have to say that I'm not so strong as I used to be, but my parents always encouraged (鼓励) me to help (other). And that is our family spirit," she said.
