The weather was sunny. Ted and his mother were on their way to the food store. Ted liked walking to the store. The neighborhood was a busy place. He saw lots of different things. He also met many people who lived near here.
"Hello, Ted. Hello, Mrs. Gomez, "said Mr. Hill. He was standing outside his store. He sold books. On rainy days after school, Ted would visit the store. Mr. Hill would show him books that he thought Ted would like.
Then they reached the food store. Mrs. King owned the store, and she always had a special treat（款待）for Ted. Today, she gave him some fresh orange juice. Ted thanked her and shared the juice with his mother. Then they started their shopping. When they got everything they needed, Ted and his mother walked back home. On the way they met Mrs. Green. She was a nice old woman. She lived by herself next door to Ted. Ted's mother invited her to come for dinner and Mrs. Green agreed. Ted was so happy because Mrs. Green always had some interesting stories to tell!
