Some of the most interesting buildings in the world are the pyramids(金字塔). Thousands of years ago in Egypt, the kin Egypt built them as tombs (坟墓). They thought pyramids would help them bring life back a death (死亡). They also wanted the world to remember them bthey think they are very important.

There are many pyramids along the Nile River. They are very fin the world. One of the largest is the Great Pyramid at Giza. Every year, millions of people from around the world visit them. Today it is just as p as it was 4, 000 years ago. During most of that time it was taller than any other building on Earth.

How did people make it? The Great Pyramid has over 2 million blocks(石块). Many of them are very big and some are as h as five school buses! The workers, Egyptian men and women, worked in teams. The teams had their own djobs. Some dug up the stones, and omoved (搬)them. Another team cut the stones. The last group put the stones into the pyramid.

Even though (即使)there were so mteams, no stone is in a wrong place. The pyramid is so wonderful and great. Even day nobody k how the workers moved them to the top yet.
