In the Sui Dynasty, there lived a boy called Li Mi. He loved to read very much. He never wasted a single minute, but 1 all of his free time every day reading.
One day, Li Mi had to go to a faraway place to 2 some of his family business. Not wanting to waste any time on the way, he took all of the 3 that he wanted to read and hung them on one of the horns of his ox (牛角). He then climbed up onto his ox's 4, with a book in one hand and the ropes in 5. In this way he could read while riding the ox so that he could 6 his every minute during the trip.
On the way, Yang Su, a very 7 learner of that time noticed this boy and thought, "What a 8 boy he is! He must be a young man worth making friends 9." Not wishing to interrupt(打搅) Li Mi 10 he was putting all his heart in the reading, Yang Su followed the ox quietly instead, 11 until Li Mi looked up to get a new book. 12 impressed(对……钦佩), Yang Su then 13 up to Li Mi and greeted him, spoke highly of his 14. Later, Li Mi became the well-known leader of Wagang Army.
Today, if a person is 15 hard-working in his studies that he finds every possible way to make use of every minute, we say he is "reading with books hanging on the ox's horn."
