Lola the Whale was big but lonely. For years she wanted nothing to do with anyone and became sadder and1. Whenever anyone tried to get close to her and cheer her up, Lola would go away. Many thought that she was the most2whale in the world, but a hundred-year-old sea turtle always told3that Lola was actually a good, kind whale.
One day, Dido, a young little dolphin followed Lola the whale and found out that she would throw herself against the4. Dido didn't understand why Lola would hurt herself like this. In fact, Lola had terribly bad breath. She could not5beautiful songs any more because a little fish was stuck(刺) in her mouth and made her feel uncomfortable. This problem made Lola too6to speak to anyone. But no one knew it.
"I don't want them to think I am strange," said Lola.
"Is that why you've spent so much time7everyone?" asked Dido. "However, they don't think you are strange. They think you're not friendly, boring, and that you don't like them. Do you think that will make you8better?"
Lola suddenly understood that her pride, shyness, and not9anyone to help brought an even greater problem. Full of regret(懊悔), she asked Dido to help take out the fish in her mouth.
After that, Lola began10to everyone again. She had to try hard again to go back to her friends. She also tried to ask for help when she really needed it. More happily, she began to sing songs again.
