The Chinese lion dance is a dance that has been performed(表演)since a long time ago. It has passed down by Chinese people for over two thousand years. The dance is often showed during the Chinese New Year and other special events. The dancers wear a lion costume (演出服)while dancing. One person moves the head of the lion, and another person moves the tail. They move like a lion. They roll on the ground, jump and ready to catch the red small ball. Sometimes, they jump on chairs, too. When they dance, drums are played as well. People believe that loud noise can scare away evil spirits and bring good luck to people.
