First Festival: The first Hillside Music Festival was In 1984 and boasted Sonic Youth, Ben                                                                         Harper and the Flaming Lips as part of the lineup.

Cost: $50 to $80 for day pass, $135 for weekend pass; kids 12 and under are free.

4 Squamish Valley Music Festival

When: The second weekend of August

Where: Squamish, British Columbia

How Many Attend: About 18.000 per day in 2013 and almost doubled to 30,000 per day in 2015.

First Festival: The first Squamish Valley Music Festival was in 2010.

Cost: Weekend passes were about $150.
