Shanghai is considered as international cultural metropolis(大都市) with a large number of cultural facilities and. (event) in the eyes of foreigners.
(conduct) by a university in Shanghai, a survey interviewed 436 international students, travelers as well as foreign residents in the city. More than 97% of the participants view Shanghai an international cultural metropolis. In their opinions, the city is modern, welcoming and diverse. 95% of the foreign participants, had learned about Shanghai before their visit, said that the city lived up to (they) expectations. However, 61. 2% of them thought that Shanghai was much better than what they imagined it to be.
The survey interviewees said that their viewpoints on the city (influence)by the cultural infrastructures(基础设施) in the city, such as libraries, theaters and museums. The survey showed that Shanghai had built 131 museums by the end of 2018，(mean)that there was a museum for every 185，000 residents. The large number of small coffee shops, teahouses and bars (be)also highly thought of by foreigners. The Oriental Pearl Television Tower and the (history )architectures on the Bund are seen as cultural landmarks of the city.
