Lots of junior high school students enjoy sports. My classmates and I had a lot of fun at our school's yearly sports meet last week.
It was pretty special for me because I took part in the 800 - meter race for the first time. Though I ran every day, I was still nervous on the day of the meet. Facing the endless runway, I felt like a boat the wind and rain. At first, I thought joining is a victory itself. I started to calm down. Just then, the starting gun and all the runners rushed out like tigers running down a hill. When I finished the first round, I realized that I had run so fast that I had used up almost all my energy. But I had to keep running for the last 100 meters. Blue veins(青筋) stood out in my forehead and I felt like I couldn't Looking at the runners in front of me, as they got closer to the finishing line, I really wanted to stop running and sit down. I told that perseverance(毅力)is a victory itself and it filled me with strength again. With my remaining strength, I tried my best to run to the end of the track.
I ended up in seventh place. This might have been a small to other people, but it made me feel happy and excited.
