A dog was always hungry. His owner only fed him once a day. He looked for food outside. Suddenly, an old man threw him a piece of meat. He walked along happily with the meat in his mouth.

B. He wanted to take the meat to his home and ate it by himself. On his way home, he met a river. When he crossed a bridge over a river , he glanced down.

C."Just look!"' he said to himself."There is another dog down.

He is carrying a piece of meat, too. It looks so delicious.If I can get it away from him, I will really eat well today."

D. He wanted to get the meat in the water so he opened his

mouth. As he did , his own meat fell from his mouth into the river. Finally, he had nothing to eat.
