Popcorn has been connected with cinemas and films for as long as we can remember. But where did this connection begin and will it continue? It had a delicious smell and this made many people buy it. Cinema owners wanted to protect the expensive floor that they had put in their cinemas. They were also worried-that, the sound of people eating snacks would get in the way of other people. So, salesmen set up popcorn-machines outside the cinemas.

As more and more people began buying popcorn on their way into the cinema, cinema owners started to understand that they could make money from the popular snack. Finally, cinemas began selling snacks themselves.
