Have you heard of Daniel Defoe? He was a famous E nglish writer. He was born in London in 1660 and died in 1731. Daniel Defoe finished the novel, Robinson Crusoe when he was 59 years old. 

Robinson Crusoe is one of the world's most popular adventure    novels. It tells a story about an E nglish sailor (水手). His name is Robinson C rusoe. He meets a heavy storm at sea on his way to Africa. After floating（漂浮）for some time, he arrives at an island. There are no people on the island. In order to live, Robinson look s for food and cuts down trees to build a house. He also makes tools and keeps animals. He comes back after living on the island for about 28 years.

The novel shows us the experiences of a brave man and the spirit of never giving up. It is so popular that it is loved by readers from all over the world.
