"Why is my smile strange?" asked my ten-year-old son Kevin suddenly. I remained speechless for a good while and then Kevin went into1 room silently.
It reminded me of the day of his birth. Kevin was born with a large tumor(肿块), covering his left2 , squeezing(挤压) shut his left eye and pushing his nose to the right. Right after his birth, the doctor sent him away quickly to another hospital. I3 saw Kevin again until he was eight days old. However, not only did the treatment leave a scar(伤疤) on his face, but it 4 him from smiling, not fully. Thankfully, Kevin sailed through childhood, being able to eat food, go to school and play football like 5 kids.
I stopped thinking and entered his room. "Kevin, how was the 6 today?"
"Some players from another school kept asking why I looked funny." He 7 ,with tears rolling down his face. "They made fun of me all day long for I 8 smile on my left. I only smile on my right.

"I'm still wondering about the match today." I continued asking, wiping away his tears. "Did you score a goal?"
Turning his face away to hide his 10 , he seemed to ignore my question. "I got the best score in the match,11 what good will it do? I only have a half-smile!"
"You're right, Kevin, that you look12 " I hugged him. "There's always someone that's special and I'm afraid that you don't 13 what goes deeper than the surface."
He looked up, "So, Mom, I don't have to look a certain way?"
"Sure, you're great just the way you are, not 14 what you look like. Just watch yourself on the playground! There's no scar to your ability. When you grow up, you'll find out that the difference has become your greatest15 ."
Kevin stared at me and showed his most beautiful smile ever.
