The rainforest of the Amazon region of Brazil in South America covers five percent of the world's land.The area is also the home of 220,000 people from about 180 tribes(部落)who live deep in the forest. Deforestation(滥伐森林)destroys ancient forest and changes the world's climate.They are dependent on the rainforest for everything they need, from food and tools to medicines and shelter.
