As a nature teacher, Han Mingzhe, 30, loves taking kids to explore (探索) trees. "I have the kids close their eyes and let them feel and remember the tree with their (hand). I call this game Discover My Tree," Han said. When the kids find their tree, they light up with joy, like meetingold friend.
Han is always amazed by his students' imagination. "They might call a walnut (核桃) tree a 'bomb (炸弹) tree' because its (fall) walnuts are like 'bombs'. And the Chinese privet (冬青) might look like a 'drone (无人机)' in(child) eyes, so they nickname (起绰号) it a 'drone tree'," Han said. Han said that looking at trees (be) a simple activity that doesn't need any special tools or knowledge from before.
You can learna tree by looking at the bark's appearance and color. You can also check for small pores (气孔) the tree uses to "breathe". Then, look at the (leaf) and see how they are different. Look at the leaf shapes and the different parts of a leaf. If you can find a tree with flowers, that's even (good). You can study the flower's shape and color.
"Apart from looking at a tree (science), you can also check a tree using your senses," Han suggested. "You can touch the tree trunk (树干) with your eyes closed and feel time go by. You can also collect fallen fruits or leaves. These are the gifts from the treeyou should treasure in your heart," he added.
