Now more and more young people from around the world come to China for study or work. Martin, a 25-year-old American, came to Beijing to study last year. After class, the young man tried to talk with his Chinese friends and watch TV to his Chinese.
Martin likes many kinds of TV programs. Chinese Poetry Conference《中国诗词大会》is one of Martin's shows. People can watch it on CCTV-10 or online. There are exciting competitions in the show and they're all Chinese poetry. "My Chinese friends told me this show and I started to love it", said Martin.
A Bite of China《舌尖上的中国》is popular with people in China and Martin also likes it. It tells us interesting about what the Chinese eat in different ways and places. China is famous for its delicious food and it plays important role in Chinese culture. Martin thinks this program is because he can not only learn how to make the food, but also know more about Chinese culture. "I can practice Chinese more often by about the Chinese food with my friends and that really helps me study Chinese", said Martin.
As a beginner of Chinese, Martin sometimes finds a little difficult to follow the talks. However, he thinks it's not a big and always tries his best. As an old saying goes, "Where there is a will, there is a way!"
