What do you imagine cities will be like in the future? Will we have smart buildings and flying cars? Or robots that will 1 our rubbish? What about schools? Will we still go to 2 or will we study online from home?

Maybe… or maybe not, but what we do know is that in the future, 3 are going to have more and more people living in them. More than half the world's people have 4 lived in cities, and by 2050, cities will become home to about 6.5 billion people. That's a lot of people but 5 space! More people means that we're going to have more 6 , traffic and noise. It also means that we'll 7 more resources (资源), like water and energy.

Many cities have 8 for the future. For example, Bristol is a cycling city in England. You don't need to take a car or bus. 9 , you can ride a bike in bike lanes (车道). They are 10 from the traffic, so it's quite safe for you.
