As one of the richest people in the world, Bill Gates has a great hobby—reading.
He picked up the tab (承担费用) for all the US college graduates (大学毕业生) to download Hans Rosling's book Factfulness: Ten Reasons We're Wrong About the World and Why Things Are Better Than You Think.
The book came out in April, 2018. It tells people how to think about the world and become a better person. "When we are more serious about the facts, we can see that the world is not as bad as it seems. And we can see what we have to do to keep making it better," Rosling wrote in the book.
In a YouTube video on the Internet, Gates called it "one of the most educational books I've ever read". "It covers a space that isn't easy to learn about," Gates said. "The world would be a better place if millions of people really read the book. "
Before that, Gates recommended Steven Pinker's book The Better Angels of Our Nature to college graduates, saying it was the "most inspiring (振奋人心的)" book he'd ever read. Let's wait and see.
