What could a soccer player do after stopping working as a player？Jared Veldheer started a job in a school kitchen. It was even a little surprising to himself.
Veldheer likes cooking，but he was not sure if he wanted to work in a school kitchen. But when he saw the job in the newspaper，he took it happily. His two children's school didn't have anyone to run their kitchen just weeks before the start of the new school year. He thought， "I'd like a job to do with my time. And I'll be around my two children. That is a good idea to work there."
Veldheer is tall and strong，and doesn't look like a usual cook. His working style（风格）is different from others. He doesn't make usual meals like pizzas or hamburgers. He uses his interest in exercise science and nutrition（营养）to make healthy and delicious meals for the students.
To make the meals better，he asks students for ideas. Then he makes some changes（变化）. It's not easy work，but Veldheer does his best to make the lunch special and delicious. The students love him and they are happy to taste his new food.
