In December 2023,Harbin,a city famous for its winter landscapes,once again transformed into a frozen wonderland as the 25th Harbin lce and Snow Festival (formal)opened its gates.
The city,known the "Ice City"for its freezing winters,has long been a hotspot for winter sports enthusiasts and tourists alike.The Ice and Snow Festival, began in 1963, has grown ever since to become one of the largest winter festivals in the world.It (attract) millions of visitors from around the globe to witness the breathtaking displays of ice sculptures, snow art,and winter (activity)each year.
The theme of the 25th Ice and Snow Festival,"Dragon Soars Over Ice and Snow:Chasing Dreams in the Asian Winter Games,"was nod to the city's rich cultural heritage and its dream of hosting major winter sports events.The highlight of the festival was the massive ice and snow sculptures,which (carve)out of solid ice and snow bricks by skilled artists.These sculptures, (range)from abstract art to life-size copies of celebrated landmarks,were indicative of the artistry and (creative)of the artists involved.Some of the sculptures were even (equip)with LED lights,creating a magical and otherworldly atmosphere at night.
