Darrel and Tanya got married (结婚) last year. Before they got married, Darrel had three sons and Tanya had a daughter. Now they all live together.    

Hiroshi's wife died two years ago. He now raises (抚养) his two sons Tom and Nick by himself.    

Jose and Maria live with their three children. Jose's parents, brother and sister also live with them.    

Bob and Mary have been married for two years. They are both very successful but don't plan to have any children.    

Jack and Betty, who have been married for over 15 years, live with their two children named William and Christin.    

A. This type of family is very typical of the so-called "Generation Z". They make pets a part of their lives, almost as if they were their children.

B. In an extended family (扩展了的家庭), different family members such as grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins live together. In many areas of the world, this type of family is common.

C. In some countries, couples choose to have only one child because there's a lot of pressure on educating a child well. This type of family is called a single child family.

D. Families with only one parent are called single parent families. There are several reasons why this type of family exists. One of the reasons is that one of the parents died.

E. When the husband or wife in a marriage brings children with them from a past marriage, this is called a blended family (混合型家庭). They all live together.

F. In some families, couples hope to have more freedom. They choose not to have children. This type of family is called a childless family.

G. Nuclear families (核心家庭) only consist of (包含) parents and children. There is one child or more children. The parents are raising their children together in the family home.
