Fans of basketball all know who LeBron James is. His fans like to call him King James. The 33-year-old basketball star was again the best player in the last season of the NBA. The most popular American sports magazineSports Illustratedalso named him the best player for the fourth season in a row (连续).

King James was born on December 30 in Ohio, the USA. He is 203cm tall and weighs 113kg. He is the perfect combination (结合)of strength, size and speed. Some people see him as the best physical specimen (体格范本)in sport.

James beat Golden State Warriors' player Stephen Curry, 29, to the number one place, even though Curry had a great season. Last season (2015-2016), the two top players led their teams to the highest rank of the NBA. So people had different ideas about who might be the best player. James finally won the award because he helped his team Cleveland Cavaliers beat Curry's team in the NBA Finals.

To his fans all over the world, James is the king. He is also a hero to many sports fans in the United Sates, especially in his hometown Cleveland. At a celebration in the city after he won the NBA Finals, James made a short speech and thanked everybody in his team. He said that he could not have won the award withoutthem. He even bought each of them a gold headphone as a gift!

James also started The LeBron James Family Foundation. It raises money and helps people in need. By now, the foundation has spent $41 million sending poor children to universities in his hometown. Maybe that is another reason why his fans love him so much.

Researchers have developed paper that can be printed with UV light (紫外线), free from the need for ink (油墨). People can clear the information away on the light-printable paper by heating it to 120℃and it can be reused more than 80 times.

The research was carried out in order to reduce the effects of paper production on deforestation (滥砍滥伐). The researchers, from Shandong University in China and the University of California, Riverside, said that the secret behind the technology is a color-changing chemical. A thin coating of the chemical can be used on usual paper and turn it into a reusable, light-printable one. Heating the paper for 10 minutes can help clear the information away more quickly.

Professor Yadong Yin, a chemistry professor at the University of California and a co-author of the study, said, "The greatest importance of our work is the development of a new technology to produce an ink-free rewritable paper that has the same feel and appearance as usual paper. Our work is believed to have great economic and environmental influences on the modem society." Paper production has a bad influence on the environment. It's the main cause of industrial pollution and paper thrown away by people makes up about 40% of landfills where waste is buried under the ground.

It is predicted that light-printable paper will be inexpensive in the future. The printing process is also more cost-effective than the usual one as no ink is needed. Most importantly, it can be reused many times, which greatly reduces the cost.

Have you ever hiccupped (打嗝)in a quiet room full of people? Have you ever hiccupped so hard that you had to stop what you were doing? The hiccups is a problem that almost everyone has experienced.

    The reasons for getting hiccups

People get hiccups for some reasons. Hiccups might result from eating or drinking too much or too quickly. A sudden change in the stomach's temperature, such as drinking hot water immediately after drinking cold water, may also cause hiccups. They may even happen because of being excited or being under a lot of stress.

    Making hiccups go away

Ideas on how to stop hiccups have been created, shared, and tried for years. However, what works for one person may not work for everyone. Perhaps the most common method people use is to hold their breath for a few seconds. If this doesn't work, you can try swallowing (吞下)hard while holding your breath. There are also some strange-sounding ways, like drinking a lot of water. Someone might even try to scare away hiccups.

Ideas for curing (治愈)hiccups often include things found in the kitchen. Some people put sweet and sour things into water. Many people believe that eating some sugar can make hiccups go away.

    Award-winning method

In 2010, a young girl named Mallory Kievman couldn't make her hiccups go away. None of the ideas that she knew worked for her. So she decided to find her own cure for hiccups. She knew that sweet and sour things were commonly used to cure hiccups, and she knew that swallowing hard could also help. She decided to use the two ideas to make a special lollipop(棒棒糖). She experimented with different things in the kitchen. After she failed many times, Mallory invented a lollipop that worked by putting water, sugar and vinegar (醋) together. She named her invention Hiccupops.

Mallory wanted to find out whether her lollipops would help others. She gave her lollipops to friends. Most of them were cured of their hiccups after eating the lollipops.

Mallory entered a competition with her lollipop and won three awards for her creative idea.
