There is a new restaurant which is called the Robin Hood Restaurant in Spain. It is named after Robin Hood, a hero who steals from the rich to help the poor. Though named Robin Hood, it doesn't mean anyone can 1 in the restaurant. In this restaurant, the poor 2 have the opportunity to enjoy very expensive food for the rich.

During the daytime, Robin Hood is a 3 restaurant which serves coffee and Spanish dishes for breakfast and has a lunch menu. At night, it turns into an amazing restaurant, serving free dinners to the 4 people. The money that is 5 earlier in the day is used to offer free dinners later that night. It's a nice dinner, prepared by cooks who work in five-star hotels. The restaurant seats 50 people a time and there are 6 times of seating for dinner, so each night the restaurant feeds totally 100 homeless people. Since the opening, the restaurant has become very7whenever day or night.

And the Robin Hood Restaurant is about a lot 8 than just providing food. In addition to warm and hearty meals for the homeless, it is a rare 9 for the homeless to eat with the same dignity(尊严) as any other customer. They can sit at the table 10, with a nice tablecloth, fine forks, knives and glasses.

The restaurant is run by an organization called Messengers of Peace, which was 11 54 years ago by Father Angel. Messengers of Peace has been running many other 12 as well, including a church that offers free coffee and tea, free meals and Wi-Fi, and even places to sleep. Talking about the restaurant, Father Angel said, "it is very important that everybody should be treated with 13, whether it's through bread or through work. So, why not open a restaurant with tablecloths and proper cutlery(餐具) and waiters? At night people with 14 can come and eat here in the restaurant and get the same treatment as everyone else."

The Robin Hood Restaurant has become quite the hotspot. The 15 is to open more around Spain so that the spirit will be spread. It's an initiative(倡议) of Spain's Messengers of Peace and Father Angel.

Do you believe in green living? Read the following blog and replies about a fun, easy and creative way to make your lifestyle greener.

What do you think of the "new" hat I made for my sister? It used to be my mum's sweater.

New uses for old clothing

Nowadays, we're more wasteful than ever-buying, throwing things away without thinking. We need to start living more responsibly—but how? One answer is to upcycle (再生利用) .

I started upcycling clothing. Making new things out of old clothes is the best way to mix my talent and my interest. Do you upcycle? If so, what new things have you made?

If not, why not give it a try?

Terry B Posted at 9:08 a. m. on 11th February 2020

I love UR idea. But why don't U give UR old clothes to people in need? I even give away the most expensive things I don't wear anymore. So I can help the environment while giving something useful to people in need.

 Gina   Posted at 9:28 a. m. on 11th February 2020

Good point! I'm talking about only the oldest clothing in your room — the clothes that are too old to be worn by others. The same idea goes for food waste at restaurants and supermarkets.

Before upcycling food that can still be eaten, for example, using it to make soil rich, we should give it to those in need.

I've made shopping bags out of T-shirts and dog toys out of socks. Upcycling clothing is a fun hobby, but the most important thing is that it makes me feel  like I'm living less wastefully.

In Los Angeles, a waiter served a group of teens. The waiter remembered his experience as a young high school student. So he wanted to make sure the teens had a pleasant experience at the restaurant. And he made sure of it.

After serving all the teens doing a great job, he was left a tip(小费), only $3.28. That was hardly enough to buy a drink at Starbucks.

The waiter went home. And he felt hatred for the students who did not know the value of hard work. They looked down on people like him. Or so he thought.

After several days, the waiter forgot about it. His life went on as usual. But ten days later, he received a letter from the teens.

"About a week and a half ago, on October 7, my three friends and I came to eat at this restaurant as our own homecoming celebration. It was an exciting experience for us to be here alone, and it was all new to us. And you were the best waiter we could ask for. You were kind, helpful, and didn't treat us like babies! So I want to say thank you for making our ‘grown-up' experience so amazing and fun.

"I would also like to say sorry. Since we were new to all of this, our 13-year-old minds didn't exactly know how to deal with the bill. The bill was reasonable(合乎情理), but we had completely forgotten (and didn't know, to be honest) what a tip even was, let alone how much to give. So we emptied our pockets, and all our money added up to $3.28.

"Having no idea of how small this really was, we left. Later, we realized our mistake and felt terrible. We knew we had to make it right.

"So together with this letter, you will find the correct 18% tip + extra for simply being amazing. Thank you for your help and patience and also thank you for making our night fun. Thank you!"

As is often the case, parents are very shocked to discover their children have lied to them for the first time. But new research has suggested many parents may not even notice many of the lies their children tell them.

Psychologists have discovered that most parents are over-confident in their children's honesty and this may impair their ability to discover a lie.

The findings may help to explain why some parents seem to be willing to let their children get away with almost anything even in the face of the evidence(迹象). They say parents suffer from a "truth bias(偏见)" with their own teenagers, but when faced with lies from other people's children, they have less difficulty telling if a statement is true or not.

Dr. Angela Evans, a psychologist at Brock University in Canada, said, "The close relationship that parents share with their own children may lead to parents failing to discover their children's lies. Parents' truth bias may result in parents being less doubtable of their children, allowing them to successfully cheat(欺骗) them."

Most children are thought to start lying as early as two years old but start telling more believable lies at around the age of four years old. Learning how to lie is considered as a key part of cognitive (认知的) and social development in children. But many parents are shocked when their children start lying to them. In their study, Dr Evans and her colleagues filmed 108 children aged between 8 and 16 as they performed a test after being asked not to look at the answers. They were then asked afterwards if they had looked, with about 45% truthfully denying(否认) looking, about 30% lying about looking and 8% admitting (承认) to looking.

Videos of those denying looking were then shown to 152 parents of children aged 8 to 16. Eighty of the parents had children who had taken part in the test. The researchers found that the parents were less able to discover lies told by their own children than by other people's children.

Aldo Cicchini, an Italian violinist, is playing the Chinese song Butterfly Lovers from his balcony. "My gift for you from Milan," Aldo said on Sina Weibo to his Chinese audience. The video has received more than 3 million views.

Aldo is the chief violinist of the RAI National Symphony Orchestra in Italy. While being isolated (隔离) at home due to COVID-19, Aldo started to play the violin on his balcony. His playing has impressed not only people in his neighborhood, but also internet users around the world.

"In times like this, we need more music than ever because it helps people stay together and cures our souls," Aldo told TEENS in an email interview.

When his neighbor Jing told him that his music was quite popular in China, Aldo decided to open an account on Sina Weibo to have closer contact with Chinese listeners. "I asked Jing to introduce me to the songs Chinese people love most. When she sent me Butterfly Lovers, I fell in love with the song and its story. Spring is the season of love and it is perfect as a gift in this moment."

After Aldo posted the video, many Chinese musicians played along with him to make it an ensemble (合奏).

"The first time I saw a guzheng player joining me, it was amazing. I felt that we were together in this battle. For me it was a huge message of solidarity and empathy (共鸣)," said Aldo.

Now the ensemble is growing bigger with guitar, accordion, pipa and other instruments. As Aldo said, although the virus is forcing us to keep a distance from one another, music reminds us that we can stay in touch in other ways.

More than 60 per cent of children and teens do not get enough sleep, which can put their health at risk, according to a report by the Chinese Sleep Research Society.

Nearly 63 per cent of Chinese youths ages 6 to 17 sleep less than eight hours a day, according to the report. Among 13 to 17-year-olds the number is more than 81 per cent. The report was based on a survey at the end of last year and in January. It covered nearly 70, 000 children and teens ages 6 to 17 all over China.

The report found that two top causes influenced students' sleep. From Monday to Thursday, 64 per cent of the group would still be busy with their homework after 11 p.m.. More than 41 per cent of children and teenagers who sleep too little use computers and mobile phones.

The survey also showed that good sleep makes study effective(有效的). Some students who sleep longer generally finish homework in two to three hours. Some other students may require four to six hours because they sleep less. Zhao Zhongxin, a professor studying sleep disorders, said, "Sleep helps growth, protects the brain and makes the immune system(免疫系统) better. Long-term loss of sleep will bring risks of disease and cause lasting health damage."

Some specialists suggested that local education authorities all over China take action to help students get more sleep, including putting off the start of morning classes by half an hour.
