One day, Sue argued with her mother. She left home without 1  a word. Because she left in a hurry, she didn't take any money.

Animal behavior is an interesting and attractive study. Scientists research the ways animals use to look for food. They study how animals protect themselves from their predators, and which animals kill other animals for food. All of this helps us understand how useful animals can be. 

Each country or culture raises some animals for food. In the United States, people mainly eat meat from cows, chickens and pigs. In other counties, people might raise sheep or buffalo for meat. These differences come in part from weather and other environmental conditions. People around the world eat all kinds of fish and shellfish from oceans and rivers. In some countries, people don't always choose some animal groups, such as dogs, for food while in other countries such animals may become people's favorite food. 

In West Africa, animals provide humans with more than food. They have been helping people do daily work for thousands of years. Horses, oxen, and other work animals pull heavy things. Elephants, camels and other animals carry people and things from place to place. Carrier pigeons(信鸽) have been used to send messages. 

People also receive health benefits from animals. For example, dogs and cats can help calm people down. This is helpful for people fighting illnesses. Animals can also reduce stress, helping people to draw their attention to learning new information, such as reading. When people are walking their dogs or horses, it encourages exercise. 

Animals and humans share space on Earth, so keeping a healthy relationship with animals, around us is in our best interest. 

There are many traditional Chinese festivals. Among them, the Spring Festival, the Tomb-Sweeping Day, the Dragon Boat festival and the Mid-Autumn Festival are the main ones. The fifteenth day of the eighth lunar (农历的) month every year, people celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. 

In ancient China, festival time was mostly related to the moon's movement. The moon symbolizes (象征) softness and brightness, and brings joy to people. 

The moon is the most beautiful of the year on Mid-Autumn Festival. Autumn is a harvest season. There are good harvests across China. The crops (庄稼) that the farmers get makes them very happy. 

On the Mid-Autumn night, families will get together, admire the moon, taste the mooncakes and enjoy the happy family reunion (团聚). The Mid-Autumn Festival has lasted for over thousands of years and formed a tradition of life. ____It goes more than a festival and is given rich cultural connotations (内涵). Reunion is the theme of the Mid-Autumn Festival and gives endless inspiration to the ancient and modern poets. There are a lot of popular poems left and read through the ages. 

"As the bright moon rises above the sea, everyone far away enjoy the same moment. ""When will the moon be clear and bright? Holding a cup of wine, and I ask the blue sky. " The two poems express people's expectations of perfection (对完美的期望). 

"Looking up, I find the moon bright. Bowing, in homesickness, I'm drowned. " The full moon on the Mid-Autumn night makes people miss their family and loved ones. 

Do you wake up several times during the night and have trouble staying asleep? If so, here are some suggestions to help you sleep well. 

Go to bed at the same time every night. Try not to break this habit on Weekends. Wake up at the same time every morning. If you are getting enough sleep, you will wake up naturally. 

Don't play on the computer for more than half an hour before you sleep. Studies show that it is bad for the quality of your sleep. Reading a book or listening to light music is good for sleep. 

A clean environment is necessary. Make sure that you have turned off the lights in your room before you sleep, and that the temperature is comfortable. 

Exercising will help you to go to sleep more easily. Walk for 45 minutes every day and you will sleep better at night. But don't do it just before you go to bed. 

Use hot water to wash your feet before you sleep every night. Washing feet for about twenty minutes every time helps you fall into a deep sleep. Keep on doing it, you can sleep well. 

One day, I heard  American boy say to a Chinese girl student,"You speak very good English. " But the girl answered, "No, no. My English is very poor. " The  (foreign) was quite surprised at the answer. Thinking he had not made himself understood or the girl had not heard him (clear), he said, "Yes, indeed, you speak very well. " But the girl still kept(say),"No. " In the end, the American boy could not understand and didn't know what to say. 

What's wrong with the girl's answer? She didn't accept a compliment (称赞) in the same way as the American people do. She should answer, "Thank you" instead of "No". 

She really understood what the American boy had said, she thought she should be modest. In the west, people will feel proud and confident when they  (praise). So if someone says the dishes you have cooked are very delicious, you should say, "Thank you. "

In our country, we think being modest is a virtue (美德) and being proud is a bad thing, but  my opinion, being confident does not mean being proud, so sometimes you should be confident instead of being modest. If you are modest and say, "No, I'm afraid I can't do it well" while working in a  (west) country, the others may think that you really cannot do it. If you often say "No", you  (look) down upon by others. When asking for a job, if one says something like "Yes, I can certainly do it" instead of "Let me have a try", he or she will succeed in getting it. So in the west, you should be brave ( show) your self-confidence.
