The adults would 2 together in the living room, around the kitchen table and on the front porch (门廊) to share each other's3, including happiness and sadness. And all of us kids would be 4 onto the front yard to play.

Those were the days before video games and smart phones, 5 we often ended up playing a good old-fashioned game of tag (捉人). I remember one of those times 6.

I was the youngest and 7 of all the kids there, so I got caught first. Even worse, I couldn't catch 8 else. Although I tried my best to chase after my brothers and cousins, they were all too fast for me. I grew more and more 9.

From writing poems to making music, ChatGPT has amazed the world since its launch in late2022 by the US-based company Open AI. It even passed several law exams in four courses at the University of Minnesota, US, according to CNN.

The AI program can answer questions on a whole host of topics and write articles, stories and any other written texts you can think of. It does this by drawing on information collected from a data base.

What makes ChatGPT so impressive? As Sam Altman, the CEO of Open Al said in an interview, "It's not actually new technology that made this (ChatGPT) so amazing. " According to MIT Technology Review, ChatGPT is based on GPT-3, a large language model. Because texts are not simply made up of the meaning of every word, language models require a type of neural network (神经网络) that can make sense of texts.

One improvement behind today's model is a network called Transformer, which was invented by Google researchers in 2017. The neural network can infer word meanings by finding where the word appears in a sentence. Transformer can therefore get the meaning of texts more correctly. The GPT models can learn by themselves without being told what to look at. ChatGPT can now produce human-like answers at once because of the plenty of texts it learned from.

"One of the biggest problems with ChatGPT is that it comes back, very confidently, with falsities, " Michael Woold at the Alan Turing Institute in London, told The Guardian (a British newspaper). This means that ChatGPT doesn't know the truth about the world -- it learns information from all kinds of resources but it cannot decide what is true or false.

Some argue that ChatGPT will be used to produce unreal news, spread falsities, or be used forbad purposes.

Along with firewood, rice, oil, salt, sauce and- vinegar, tea is considered one of the seven necessities for life in China. Now, it has also won global recognition as a shared cultural treasure of mankind.

On Nov. 29, Chinese traditional tea processing skills and their related social practices were added to the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage (非物质文化遗产) list. Since ancient times, Chinese people have been planting, picking, making and drinking tea.

More importantly, China's tea culture has formed Chinese customs. It is Chinese traditional custom that a host should welcome visiting guests with boiled tea. A poem by Song poet Du Lei reads, "I offer tea, not wine, to a guest on a cold night. When water boils on the stove, fire burns with flame bright. "

Boiling tea is one of the oldest Chinese tea brewing methods, dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Tea leaves were boiled for a long time and sometimes they were cooked together with different kinds of herbs and fruits. During this process, people can enjoy a quiet time. Later in the Ming Dynasty(1368-1644), a faster and more convenient method become more popular-steeping(冲泡).

_______▲_______. On the app Xiaohongshu, or Little Red Book, there are over 40, 000posts on the topic of "stove-boiled tea"(围炉煮茶). They lightly roast tea leaves before boiling them in a teapot on a stove. People sit around the stove in a natural setting and have snacks with their hot tea. Some also wear traditional hanfu as if it could take them back to those ancient times. Through" stove-boiled tea", people can taste a slower life and find their inner peace. As is written in one Xiaohongshu post, "It is very relaxing to drink hot tea, feel the fall breeze, and chat with best friends."
