At 12:46 p. m. on May 4th, 2022, thirteen Chinese scientists reached the top of Mount Qomolangma. They built eight world's highest weather stations from 5200 to 8800 meters on the mountain and four of them were above 7000 meters.

" The first research began in 2017 and it was an important moment of China's second scientific travel to Qomolangma. The station at 8800 meters would be the world's highest weather station,” the leader Yao Tangdong said. To finish the work, Chinese government made up 16 teams with more than 270 scientists. They've gotten a training of over three years.

This year researchers will use the newest technologies to these weather stations. They can study the natural environments and human activities on Qomolangma. The newest technologies will also help scientists study different weather, so they can make right decisions about climate （气候）change.

With these technologies, strong help from government and hard work from scientists, China will become a front-runner in fields such as information technology, science, mountain climbing and geography about the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau （高原）in the world.

Mount Qomolangma was around 8848. 86 meters from the research of China and Nepal in 2020. "There are many key scientific questions left unanswered. If our researches go on, I believe we will have more findings and developments to share with the world, " Yao added.

Some school teachers have been showing video clips (片段) from the series in classes to help students learn more about history. A junior high school teacher from Taiyuan, in North China's Shanxi Province, said that some students told her after class that the show had left a strong impression on them.

Like most teenagers in the world, Joso Montanaro, a teen artist in Brazil likes reading and drawing cartoons. But he is special- his drawings get published.

Taiwan is famous for its hundreds of night markets. It's fun for you to spend time walking through the night markets. It's common to find night markets in most cities and towns in Taiwan. They take place on the same streets every day. During the day, these streets are quiet. At night, there are crowds of people.

Usually people arrive at three or four in the afternoon. By 6:00 p. m. , the streets are full of people, including many tourists. Foodies（吃货） can taste different kinds of snacks here. The food is not only delicious but cheap. When you're just a little hungry, you can buy some snacks. When you are really hungry, you can sit down for a meal. Smelly tofu is popular, although it really smells terrible.

Besides the food, there are shops that sell all kinds of things such as clothes, toys, and books. Things sold at night markets are usually cheap. If you think the price is high, you can bargain with the seller. You may get a lower price.

There are also fun games at the night market. In one game, you throw plastic rings around the top of a bottle. In another game, you shot with a toy gun. If you do well in them, you can win a prize. They're such interesting games that even foreign tourists are fond of them.

The Caofeidian Wetland, which lies in Tangshan, Hebei Province, is an important place for migratory(迁徙的) birds. It was reported in the newspaper on November 9, 2020 that more than2, 000 oriental white storks(东方白鹳), a rare kind of migratory bird, were found there.

In order to watch oriental white storks, I went to the Caofeidian Wetland on November 10, 2020. Luckily, as soon as I got there, I noticed a large number of them looking for food in the swamps(沼泽). I couldn't get close, so I used a pair of binoculars to see them more clearly.

They were about 1.2 metres tall with long hard black beaks(喙) and broad wings. They had long red legs and a long thin neck. The oriental white storks used to be common in East Asia several hundred years ago. They lived in wetlands and fed mainly on small fish. In winter, they flew to the wetlands along the Changjiang River in China.

However, as the human population grew larger and larger, the space for them became less and less. They couldn't find enough food to eat. Worse still, some people killed them illegally(非法地). As a result, their population has become very small. At present, there are only about 9, 000 oriental white storks in the world. They are in great danger.

The good news is that they are now strictly protected by law. And more and more people have already realized the importance of protecting them.

The printers have even been used by astronauts in space. 3D printers are turning ideas into objects, on this planet and elsewhere.

There is a song we all can sing—March of the Volunteers(《义勇军进行曲》). It was composed in 1935 by Tian Han and Nie Er as the theme song of the movie Children of Trouble Time(风云儿女). It was taken as the national anthem(国歌) in 1949.

We learn it at the beginning of primary school and sing it at every flag-raising ceremony(仪式). Now, there is a law to protect the song.

On Sept 1, 2017, the government passed the National Anthem Law and it took effect from Oct 1 in the same year. It stated how we should sing or play the song, requiring all Chinese to respect it.

According to the law, the song will only be allowed to play at nine situations，such as major sporting events, award ceremonies and flag-raising: ceremonies. It shouldn't be used at personal funerals(葬礼) or as background music in public places.

Moreover, the law requires Chinese to be serious when singing the song. We can neither joke about the song nor change the song's words or music. If someone breaks the law, he or she can be detained(拘留) for up to 15 days or held criminally liable(负刑事责任)

Many foreign countries also have laws for their national anthems. For example, US people should put the right hand over their hearts while singing the song. In Russia, the national anthem must be played on television and radio before the start and the end of broadcasting(节目播出).
