Improving your memory doesn't have to be a difficult process. It is about learning how brain works best and using this knowledge to your strong points.
Pay attention to what you want to remember. The most important reason why people cannot remember other people's names is that they don't pay enough attention to the name. The same has an effect on"forgetting"if you've locked the door. So, whether you want to remember a name, an action, or any other information, make efforts to pay attention.
Avoid multitasking(多任务) whenever possible. Multitasking may be typical of modern times. Studies. however, have shown that 98%of the people cannot multitask. They can really only pay attention to one activity at a time. By multitasking, you are always changing your attention between different activities and are sure to lose some information.
Get your blood flowing and get O2 to your brain. Your brain needs good blood flow and O₂to work well. Aim for at least twenty minutes of aerobic(有氧的) exercise every day. If you are preparing for an exam, or sitting at your desk to read and remember, alternate(交替) between 20 to 30-minute study periods and 5 to 10-minute light exercise.
Let's say you want to remember the important parts of an article or a book you are reading at the present time: Prepare a short list of questions you are going to test yourself on. After finishing reading, take a short break and then answer the questions from memory. You can further improve on this by answering the questions again the next day, then two days later.
