Hello, everyone. I'm here today to tell you something about my life as an exchange student in the United States last year.
America was a big culture shock for me at first. I stayed with a host family in a small town. My host parents were very kind. They organized a lot of activities for me in my free time so that I wouldn't miss home.
However, life in the US was difficult to get used to. My main problem was the language.
I failed to understand much in the first few weeks because everyone spoke so fast. Another one was the food. My host family always had bread, potatoes and salad, but I missed dumplings, rice and delicious dishes a lot, especially barbecue(烧烤). It was very famous in Qiqihar.
It was an exciting year, and it was a valuable education for me. I understood more about American culture. My American friends asked me many questions about life in China, and this made me think about my own culture as well. Now I am back in China, I still remember the life in the US.
