Do you like camels? Perhaps, they are not so beautiful. But if you are walking in the hot land of North Africa, and the Middle East camels can be very useful. They are called the ship of the desert.
Camels can live for about 40 years old, but they usually stop working at the age of 25.
Camels don't like running, because it is too hot. But if you want them to run, they can run 20 kilometers an hour. The dromedary(单峰骆驼) or the Arabian camel, has longer hair and one hump(驼峰). There are about l4 million camels in the world, and most of them are dromedaries.
An adult(成年的) camel is about 2.1 meters tall, and it can walk for more than 600 kilometers without drinking. They only need to drink water every six or eight hours. But if there is water, they can drink up to 90 liters.
