Molly Jackson was a high school girl from Australia. Molly loved cars very much and she decided to buy one for herself before graduation. In order to get enough money, she looked for part-time jobs on her school board and on the website.
Among kinds of part-time jobs, the one which interested her most was to be the mascot (吉祥物) of her school sports teams. It was paying $15 an hour, which was really a lot for a high school student. So Molly went to the job interview. The interviewer asked Molly why she wanted to get the job and why she thought she had the ability to do it well. Molly said that she loved her school very much and wanted to get more students excited about the school's sports teams.
Molly got the job at last! She felt very happy. Her first day of work was at a basketball game. She got to school early that day. When she got to the basketball field, it was just 7 o'clock, only the basketball players were there. Molly put on her costume and her bear head. It was very heavy and hot inside. She kept thinking about how she wanted a car to make herself feel better.
That day, Molly's high school basketball team won the game. The crowd got up from their seats and cheered. A lot of people wanted to take a picture with Molly. She spent an hour just taking pictures. By the time Molly could go home, it was already 11 o'clock, and she felt very tired but happy. She thought about how much money she made. It was the thing keeping her going.
