Cheetahs(猎豹)are the fastest animals on land.But as their living space has got smaller, they are in big trouble.They have to fight with stronger animals for food, and their number is getting smaller.
Cheetahs use their super speed to catch gazelles(羚羊)and impalas(黑斑羚), rabbits and other small plant eaters.
Cheetahs are fast, but they can only run for a short time.For example, during a hunt, they can run for only about 200 metres.They are sprinters(短跑运动员).
Once cheetahs start they can speed up quickly, and a few seconds later, they can run over 100 kmph.
They are good at running, but they aren't very strong in a fight.Sometimes they have their food taken away by lions or hyenas(鬣狗).
The plains that cheetahs and lions live on are becoming smaller and smaller.People are taking away the land.Because of this, cheetahs have to fight with lions and hyenas.There are fewer cheetahs since they have to fight with those stronger animals for survival.
