I am Amanda Cox, a teacher in Beaumont, Texas US. Today I was using up my 1 so I asked my students who could share any of theirs with me. One of my students, Clark 2 me some of his pencils and said they were what his mum gave him for school.
I took the pencils that he handed me. When I was happening（削尖）them，I noticed the3 on a few of them. I then realized that Clark's mother wrote something on his pencils. I asked him if he would4showing me the rest（其余的）of them. "Of course not, "he said with a big smile.
What I read on the pencils melted (融化)my heart:
—You are so smart.
—You are5.
—This will be a great year.
—You are creative.
— 6you every day.
—I love you.
—You are a problem solver.
—Follow 7 dream.
—You will change the world
—You are important.
...
This 8 took his mum a few minutes to do. But it lit up his whole day at school. He wasn't 9 that his mum wrote on his pencils. 10his mum, he was minded（提醒） of his self－worth and wanted to 11 the same feeling with his classmates.
These are the things that we should be reminding our kids. 12 the look on a child s face when they are reminded that they are important, smart, loved and so much more.
Help them know that 13 believes in them and is proud of them in everything they do.14you think you don't have enough time or that you will have little influence, remember that you may be the only one reminding them of these things and every kid 15 to know their value.
This is why I teach.
