Long long ago, there was a wise man (call) William Tell in Switzerland (瑞士). He was (regard) as a national hero by the people in his country.
At that time, the king of the country treated his people badly. One day, the king thought of a new way to make fun of his people. He put his hat on a tree and (ask) every passer-by to bow to it. People had to do this they didn't dare to say no to the king.
One day, when William Tell and his son passed the tree, they walked past without (bow). The king was very angry and caught Tell and his son, and put an apple on the head of his son. He said he would set (they) free if Tell could shoot the apple down.
Tell took two arrows (箭) in his hand. A second later, an arrow hit the apple and Tell's son was not hurt at all. As Tell hugged his son and wanted to leave, the king said, " You are wonderful. But tell me, did you take two arrows out when you only needed one? Tell looked at the king and said, " If the (one) arrow had missed the apple and killed my son, the second arrow would shoot you". After hearing Tell's words, the king was so afraid he didn't dare to make fun of his people any more.
