In Britain, some people like to "go to work on an egg", but more people like cereal(谷物）, bread with butter and jam before going to work. But, whatever(无论什么)they eat, most people drink tea or coffee.

Some people have their biggest meal in the middle of the day and some have it in the evening, but most people today have a small mid-day meal- usually sandwiches, some crisps and fruit.
The evening meal is usually called "diner". A traditional British dinner is meat and two vegetables. The most popular meat is chicken and beef. Vegetables grown in Britain, like potatoes, onions, and carrots, are very popular, but today you can buy vegetables from many countries all through the year. After dinner, people eat dessert something sweet like fruit, chocolate cake, or apple pie.
