Whenever I have received money, I share it with others. I have learnt that, when you share money with others, the 1 keeps moving and more money comes in.
One day, I went to one of my favourite restaurants. When I walked in, a new waitress called Mary had a2for me. She told me how she had been out of work and down to her last $43. She was3 to a job interview and on the way saw a woman holding a baby and a sign that said, “My baby needs a doctor. Please help. ” She pulled over to the woman, reached into her purse( 钱包 ) and handed her “$3”. As she drove away, the woman 4, “Thank you, thank the Lord. ”
Mary felt good about having given money to her even though she had only a little. But later she found that she handed the woman two twenties and a one 5 three ones. She couldn't believe she had almost given away her 6 money, with only $2 left.
I told her not to be unhappy about the money, because perhaps that money was just what was needed for them to see a doctor and the woman might have been wishing for it. Mary might have been the very person to help her 7 what she wanted. I wrote a check( 支票 ) for $50 and asked another waitress to give it to Mary after I 8 so she wouldn't refuse it and wouldn't be uncomfortable.
A month later I received a letter from Mary. She said, “I don't know if you 9 me, but I just want to tell you that I've never cashed( 兑现 ) your check. I put it up on the wall in my house, and whenever anyone comes to my home, I will tell them the story of that check and tell them 10 gets repaid as money started to come to me after that. ”
