Five-year-old Lila lives in Hood River, Oregon.
She has had cancer for three years and spent much of her life in hospitals undergoing chemotherapy (化疗). Her parents looked after her carefully.
Lately, her parents were told by the doctor that their child was too weak to receive chemo and she probably would die before Thanksgiving. Thinking it could be the last birthday party for her, her parents decided to give her a big and memorable birthday party.
With the help of many kind people and charity workers, Little Lila's birthday party went on very we on July 30th.
Lila experienced her birthday prom (毕业舞会), and even wedding ceremony all in one. Her parents wanted to givethemto her. She might not live to see another. Countless people donated their time and money to make sure that everything from the food to the music and customs was perfect. Some people even came from a long way to attend the party and congratulate the little girl. Lila got to hang out with her favorite Disney princesses while dressing as Cinderella.
The sweetest of all, she even "married" her dad. Dad proposed to little Lila and held her in his arms to dance, knowing that she could never have a real wedding. Dad told a reporter: "We rally thank everyone for what they've done or our family. Without their help, we probably could never have had such a big party for her. And today nigh be her happiest day ever. I saw she was laughing, laughing all the time. "
