The Great Wall of China
| The world's largest man-made design, the Great Wall of China is more than 20,000 km long. People began to build it in the 2nd century BCE (公元前) and it took next 1,700 years to build the Great Wall. First Emperor of Qin ended the wars in 221 BCE and asked people to build the wall. |
The Eiffel Tower
| The Eiffel Tower is one of the most wonderful buildings in the world. People built it in 1889. It is by the Seine River in Paris. Every year, more than 6 million tourists visit the 324-meter-tall tower. On a clear day, visitors can see 60 km in every way from the top of the tower. |
The Pyramids of Giza
| The three large pyramids of Giza are the tombs of three Egyptian rulers(统治者). Giza is in southeast of Cairo, Egypt. The tombs were built from lots of stones. The largest and oldest one is the Great Pyramid, Khufu's Pyramid. It was the world's tallest building for more than 3,800 years. |
