Some parents think their children should just study hard and stay away from other things. These children spend most of their time on study (独自). They may do really well at school, but they are not able to do (几个; 一些) chores at home, such as sweeping the floor, (折叠) their clothes and so on.
However, children are not the machines of study or (轮子) of buses. They can't grow up healthily under great study pressure. (而且), parents can't do everything for their children. Housework doesn't (浪费) children's time. The earlier children learn to take care of themselves, the (更聪明) they can be in control of the difficulty in life. So it's necessary for parents to teach children to do housework (当……时候) they're at an early age.
Parents can ask their children to clean their own rooms at first, and then children may (讨厌) to do housework after a few days. At this time, parents should tell their children the importance of being (独立的) and give them more encouragement(鼓励). After some time, parents will find that their children improve a lot in self-care ability.
