Hans liked singing very much. He sang while mending(修补) shoes. He sang loudly. Joe did not like singing. So he said to Hans, "Hans, I will give you a bag of money every day if you stop singing. " "Very well." said the shoemaker.

So Hans stopped singing and got a bag of money from the trader. Day after day, he became richer and richer, but he felt unhappy and fell ill.

One day, he came to Joe's home with all his money. "Take your money back, I can't stop singing. It's my life, "he said. Then he went home and sang loudly.
