Ross is a cute yellow chick. She is 15 days old. She likes taking a trip on the grass and watching the ants work. But she is shy, too. And she feels very afraid of the mice and dogs near her house.
Three months later(以后), Ross becomes a hen and has eight eggs. She is so careful with the eggs. She is not afraid of the mice and dogs anymore. She acts like a police officer. She is angry with the bad mouse and chases it away. She is very brave.
Another(又一)month later, Ross has eight baby chicks. She is not shy anymore. Sometimes she is a postwoman. She finds the earthworms(蚯蚓) in the morning and feeds her babies in the afternoon. Sometimes she is a teacher. She teaches her babies to find food, to run, to fly and…… Sometimes she is a pilot. She flies to a tree and watches for her baby chicks.
Now Ross is so busy but very happy. She is not afraid or shy anymore.
